I highly recommend Gene with Rubens Home Service. He did an outstanding job swapping out my old-style fluorescent lights for new recessed lighting, which looks amazing. He also repaired water damage in two separate areas of the house and patched up countless wall dings. The drywall patching and texture matching are perfect, you can't even tell where the damage was. Fast, clean, and very reasonably priced for the high level of work. I appreciated Gene's attention to detail. I will definitely be using him again!Posted on GoogleDenise5 October 2026We are always pleased with Gene and his work! He been our go-to for years! So far he replaced our shower/bathtub with a really nice tiled shower and recently completed our kitchen remodel. Both projects make us say "WOW!" each time we look at our shower and especially our kitchen. My wife and I are extremely happy and satisfied. It's the best kitchen we have ever had. The kitchen included new plumbing, cabinet painting, new island, new countertops, new updated lighting, updated electrical, and new farmhouse sink. He helped guide us through all the steps to get what we wanted and needed. He provided a budget and schedule and stayed on the schedule and within budget! We really appreciate the care and cleanliness each day the work is done. We definitely will be contacting RHS for our next home improvement projects in the near future.Posted on GoogleTamara Ravalin2 January 2026Ruben’s Home Services installed a 75 gal. water heater at our home. Thank you!Posted on GoogleConnie Haugen14 November 2024It’s great to support a local business that provides quality service with integrity plus quality! Ruben’s Home Service (RHS ), with their years of experience in our area, benefits us as customers because they have gained experience, knowledge & valuable networking with other businesses (subcontractors & fellow construction-type companies) in jobs, small to large. Initially, I was referred to RHS by a neighbor -a longtime, happy customer- to install a roller shade for my west facing entry door that was was so hot in Valley heat, I could barely touch the handle! RHS’ work was excellent & discreet so the shade is only visible when down & in use, so as not to mar the aesthetics of my house from the street. After that, I hired RHS to install a security screen on my garage so my pet could see outside yet be secure. He framed my stucco walls to get support as well as produce a visually appealing look, including painting & hardware. My final project for RHS, was to create an interior door for a guest bedroom into the back hallway for easier access to the bathroom. He created the opening & matched existing doors, mouldings, hardware, drywall & paint! It’s so perfect, you don’t know it wasn’t part of the initial home design! RHS overall is 5 stars plus!! They are the FIRST company I call for home care needs listed on their website! He was referred to us by Franey's and he did an exceptional job.Posted on GoogleMaria Carr29 August 2023Thank you for the amazing services in helping to get us settled into our new home. We are appreciative of the process and flexibility that was shown to us as well as your professionalism.Posted on GoogleBrandon Smith12 June 2023Ruben's completed a walk-in shower remodel for us and their work was excellent and very professionally done. We asked them to remove the two side walls and header in hopes of trying to open up our shower and make it brighter, along with rebuilding the subfloor and installing a new shower valve and head. Little did we know, upon removing the tile, there was major water damage accumulated from many years of water leakage. Gene and his staff completely rebuilt the wall framing and the floor and insulated the walls. We had a separate tile contractor put in the tile. The end product exceeded all our expectations. We appreciate that he & his staff were able to do it all, no matter the extent of the damage!Posted on GoogleMichael Williams4 May 2023Ruben's Home Service (RHS) was recommended to us for the refurbishment of our master bathroom and vanity. RHS provided the demolition of an existing tile shower, removal of gypsum board walls and ceiling, adding blocking and additional framing for the new ceramic tile shower, installation of new gyp board walls and ceiling, installation of an exhaust fan/light fixture, adding new ceiling insulation, installation of new shower fixtures, toilet, a new vanity cabinet and sink fixtures. Gene Mendoza, owner, and his staff were very well experienced in the work they did, very respectful of our home and property, kept the work area clean well ordered, and are extremely nice people. Their work was above excellent quality. RHS quote for the scope of work was very reasonable and they stayed right on budget. My wife and I could not be more pleased with the quality of their work. I would highly recommend Ruben's Home Service. Truly a 5 star experience.Posted on GoogleDrew Sorensen11 April 2023I called Gene and he sent Brandon to help us with multiple ceiling fans. They all work great! Brandon also worked on a leaking toilet and now it is working great as well.Posted on GoogleAlice San Miguel4 April 2023I had Ruben’s Home Services install 4 recess lights in my kitchen because that area was very dark. Now that area is well lighted. They ask where I wanted the lights at, and explained everything they were gonna do before the project started. Very happy with them, professionally and friendly.Posted on GoogleAllan Rogers22 March 2023This was the best find for my in-laws they were professional and understood everything that needed to be done great company!!!!Posted on GoogleDebbie Vasquez10 August 2021Gene and his crew are the best! I was kept informed throughout the entire project. All jobs were completed to my satisfaction with no mess left behind. I will definitely be using Rubens HS again!Posted on GoogleAlan Helm26 March 2021Ruben's Home Service did an incredible job with our remodeling project! We had a terrible pantry design with two bedroom-style doors opening into a closet space. We weren't entirely sure what to do with it, so we had Gene come out and assess the space. Gene had a great idea: by eliminating the wall in the middle, we could open up the pantry making it more accessible, and then we could install some barn doors in front of it to close it off! It would give us the chance to open it up vertically too and access unused space in the pantry. Initially, we were looking at barn doors with Gene that he could install, but ultimately he did not want to compromise the vision and recommended a local craftsman who makes his own doors and hardware. Gene's humbleness and honesty were refreshing. He wants to do work to the Ruben's Home Service quality standard, and when something is a little outside their wheelhouse, he'll provide great recommendations to get you the right contractor for the job. Gene and his crew then took time out of their schedule to meet at the house with the door craftsman and myself so we could map out the entire project. They brainstormed together and came up with proper sizing for the new opening, dimensions for the doors, and everything else required to make the joint project successful! Then we had Ruben's Home Service take out the central wall and open up the pantry vertically so we can add shelving at the top of the space. They installed a new beam across the opening to provide structural support for the wall and the barn doors. And they then finished the drywall, adding texturing to match the existing walls and jamb/trim pieces to frame the opening. The finished product is outstanding. Now we just need some paint and the barn doors! I cannot say enough about Ruben's Home Service. From Gene's expert general contractor attention to detail, to Javier's craftsmanship, to Gina's prompt answering of texts/emails and scheduling ability, the experience was incredibly stress-free. If you have any home remodeling projects to accomplish, you'd do well to hire RHS!Posted on GoogleCristina Valencia23 September 2020Amazing local company! The entire staff is exceptionally professional and courteous. They provide true quality work, while leaving no mess behind. Will continue to use Ruben's Home Service for all my future home repair needs, big or small.Posted on GoogleCode J.23 June 2020Had the bottoms trimmed on 7 doors (one with a tricky cat door) and they came out like new. Quick pace, good conversation and Javier even cleaned all the saw dust that was created, so thank you all so very much and we will be using Ruben’s Home Service from now on. 10/10 would recommend!Posted on Googlekenneth cohen21 January 2020ruben was very professional and knowledgeable has all tools for any job you need done to your Residential or commercial propertiesPosted on GoogleBrett and Alyssa Van Dyk23 December 2019I can't thank these guys enough. 1st I'll say that for me trust is huge. You never want to be taken advantage of b/c the area you need help in is outside of your knowledge. Years ago my former employer always used Ruben's for our office. I know the person in charge of the office did the research and due diligence to find the right people. So automatically I had that trust. When I got my own place and needed help fixing things from time to time it was a no brainer of who to call. I will say over the years Ruben's has given nothing but excellent service and very timely. I usually run into needing them about once a year. Another +1 in the trust category for me is when my garbage disposal wasn't working. Literally in minutes they had it up and running, on top of it, they showed me how to fix it if it happened again (a trick I have used repeatedly) b/c they would feel bad charging me a service fee for a quick fix. That just goes to show customer is valued over income. The last example I have was today. I decided to surprise my wife by installing a new kitchen faucet for Christmas. Everything went smoothly with taking the old one out, putting the new one in... everything except I couldn't hook the water lines to the water source. I talked to my buddy who told me what I needed to do and it was beyond my knowledge or comfort zone. I called Ruben's at a very busy time and explained to them my situation and how my wife might kill me if I don't get this up and running ASAP. Less than 4 hours later they managed to squeeze me in and were at my door. Less than an hour after that they were all finished and I am alive and well. Honestly, I can't thank these guys enough and if you are looking for a trustworthy handyman who values their customers, I highly recommend Ruben's Home Service.Posted on GoogleTheresa Ordóñez7 August 2019We were having electrical issues for some time. I called a company that had done electrical work for us and they came out to look at the current problem and said they would have to cut open a wall to fix the problem. Their quote was very high and it would not cover the cost of patching up the wall,, painting, etc. Then we remembered Ruben's Home Service. The owner had done work for us in the past -- he assembled a very large metal patio pergola for us and did a great job. We called Ruben's Home Service to do the electrical work. They were prompt, professional, accurate and very reasonably priced. We paid them half of what the other electrical company quoted AND no walls had to be opened up! Ruben's Home Service is now our "go to" business for all our home repairs. Thanks Ruben! TheresaLoad moreVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
